November/December, 2021

What a lovely autumn we are having!   The dazzling display of orange, red, yellow and green leaves makes me glad to live in NW Oregon.

Our annual Christmas Luncheon is scheduled for Friday, December 3.  There is always something special about food and friends to cheer us on!  I hope you can all come.

Since we are only a few months away from the New Year, this is our last Musette of the year. We have booked some interesting speakers this next year:  Heidi Evans, Sarah Ball and an additional ZOOM speaker.

Check our website for information and updates:

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

~Can you read this without singing it?

Over the river and through the woods
Trot fast my dapple gray.
Spring over the ground
Like a hunting hound
On this Thanksgiving Day, Hey!

Over the river and through the woods
Now Grandmother's face I spy
Hurrah for the fun,
Is the pudding done?
Hurrah for the pumpkin pie.

Listen! the wind is rising, and the air is wild with leaves,
we have had our summer evenings, now for October eves!

October, 2021

I hope this finds you enjoying "October Eves," with cooler weather and refreshing rain…and more time for our students to practice!  It has been good to see my students this last month.  I always enjoy seeing them progress!  One my long- time students went off to college last month as a Music Major!  Yay!  Participating in Syllabus always puts students 'ahead of the game.'  It’s a worthwhile program of study.

Our first hybrid meeting will take place on Friday, October 8, from 9:30am-12:00pm.

We have two options:  You can meet at Jill Foster's Studio for an in-person Zoom meeting or Zoom in your home.
Directories may also be picked up.
Holly Butler will be bringing fresh donuts from EZ Orchards to this meeting!

From Our President, Deborah Snow Butler

September, 2021

Dear Teachers:

I hope this finds you healthy and ready for a year of beautiful music!

We experienced a 'glitch' recently but decided to roll with it:
Due to a personal emergency, Bethany Evans resigned as President.

When I was asked to step up, I found it hard to say no.
I love this organization and I don't want it to disappear!

Salem District OMTA is back on track:

Officers 2021-2022
President,  Deborah Butler
Secretary,  Debbie Smith
Treasurer,  Esther Fields
Past Pres,  Jill Foster

Please be thinking about which job you can do. We need everyone to take a turn!
Here are some ideas:
Ensemble Music Festival - needs chairman
Romantic Music Festival -  needs chairman
Iva Turner Scholarship    -  needs chairman
